This part time (approximately 30.5 hours per week) position requires an energetic, positive person who is dedicated to motivating children to learn while utilizing the methodology of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to educate our students.  As an Instructional Assistant, you will be required to provide assistance to the teacher by leading small group teaching sessions and conducting individualized instruction while following lesson plans and recording data legibly and accurately.   Depending on each student’s individual needs, you may be required to assist in problem behavior reduction as well as assisting the students with toileting, feeding, and other self help skills throughout the day. JOB SUMMARY: Provide direct 1:1 services as part of a treatment team providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions may include but are not limited to: 1. Implementation of behavior/treatment plans/program curriculum utilizing ABA principles and teaching strategies a. Implements behavior/treatment plans/program curriculum as developed by BCBA/Licensed Mental Health Professional/Consultant b. Behavior/treatment plans/program curriculum may include instruction in:  i. Functional adaptive skills ii. Decreasing problem behavior  iii. Play/social skills iv. Communication  v. Community/safety skills 2. Provides direct 1:1 instruction to client implementing all recommended behavior/treatment plans/program curriculum 3. Complete documentation of client progress as required by BCBA/Licensed Mental Health Professional/Consultant a. Record accurate data on all behavior/treatment plans.  b. Document through data collection client behavior during scheduled training session 4. Adheres to Capitol Autism Services Policies and Procedures SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:  Must pass Department of Justice fingerprint screens  Must provide proof of a negative TB test or chest x-ray annually.  Must provide proof of immunity to or immunization records for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella. Description Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Reports to: Director of Clinical Services                           Status: Part-time (non-exempt)/Full-time (exempt)     Work Site: Capitol Autism Services                                   Salary Range: DOE        Date Approved: September, 2012                                      Approved:  CEO                 JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment programs for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and developmental disabilities in home, school, and/or clinic-based settings. The BCBA responsibilities include assessment, development of individualized goals and related behavior/treatment plans, ensuring treatment efficacy, client safety, adherence to internal policies and procedures, and regulatory compliance and documentation required by various funding sources, including medical insurance.  Provide ongoing hands-on training, support, and supervision of direct care staff and parents/guardians in ABA, program implementation, treatment protocols, and data collection to ensure overall quality and consistency of service provision.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.    Supervision of individual clinical programs and staff to ensure treatment efficacy 2.    Assessment utilizing various developmental/behavioral tool(s) to determine current skills and areas of need 3.    Development of objective, measureable goals and individualized behavior/treatment plans across domain areas 4.    Writes clinically sound, professional, and data-based assessments, update reports, and intervention plans 5.    Provides supervision, training, motivation, leadership, and support to direct care staff at various levels 6.    Conducts parent/guardian training in ABA principles and hands-on program implementation 7.    Provides accurate reporting of client data, progress towards goals, session notes and time 8.    Reviews, approves, and signs treatment plans 9.    Adheres to requirements of funding sources for documentation, program design, and treatments protocols 10.    Functions as liaison between the organization, families, employees, and funding sources 11.    Lead/attend required organizational and client meetings 12.    Responsible for meeting productivity requirements set forth in annual budget 13.    Adheres to overseeing licensure and/or BACB’s guidelines for ethical and responsible conduct 14.    Ensures regulatory compliance across various state, federal, and medical insurance funding sources 15.    Adheres to Capitol Autism Services’ policies and procedures 16.    Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Certified by the Behavior Analysts Certification Board (min of MA/MS in psychology, education, or related field) Minimum of 1 year direct experience and program development with children and/or adolescents with ASD Minimum of 1 year experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments Minimum of 1 year supervising and managing direct care staff SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS: Able to pass DOJ background/fingerprint screens; provide proof of negative TB test or chest x-ray Strong clinical, supervisory, organizational, time-management and leadership skills Ability to maintain composure, problem solve, and demonstrate flexibility Ability to maintain customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions Demonstrate good judgment, decision-making, and communication skills across individuals Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality Ability to communicate clearly, write professionally, collaborate, and present self professionally Proof of valid California drivers license and auto insurance Reliable transportation and ability to travel within Organization’s service area Fluency in Microsoft Office and the Internet; ability to read and write the English language This position requires the following physical activities: climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and visual acuity, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs BENEFITS (Full-time): Medical, dental, vision -100% paid for Employee Basic life insurance  Voluntary life insurance, AD&D and AFLAC 401K match 2% Paid time off (PTO) Performance Incentive Bonus Program
