A growing structural engineering firm in Davis is looking to expand. My firm designs custom, multi and single family homes, additions, renovations, seismic evaluation, and retrofit. We also work in the commercial area: retail stores, tenant improvements, offices, hotels, and warehouses.
We are seeking to add a licensed civil engineer (PE or SE) to our team.
-3+ years designing wood joists, beams, studs, posts, shear walls.
-Familiarity with equivalent lateral force procedure
-Familiarity with spread footings and retaining walls
-Experience drawing structural details
-Experience communicating with drafters and backchecking drafting work
-Using Excel spreadsheets for engineering calculations
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Demonstrated project management abilities in the design and construction phases
-Experience communicating with various stakeholders (customers, architects, contractors, building administrators)
-Excellent time management skills
-Responsiveness and attention to customer service
-Ability to act with a large degree of independence
-Basic AutoCAD: some work will be drafted for you, and you will draft some
-History of managing junior engineers, setting project schedules and monitoring budgets
-Steel and/or reinforced concrete design
-Post tensioned slab on grade
-Use of RISA 2D or Enercalc
-Bluebeam PDF software
-Additional years of experience
-Commensurate with experience
-Overtime: paid at 1.5x hourly rate

- This is a remote-work position with built-in flexibility. While this position is a full-time 40 hr/week position, the engineer will have control over his/her schedule.
