Job Description

Attorneys will be responsible for advising clients concerning business transactions, claim liabilities, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits or other legal rights and obligations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Advising and representing clients in courts, before government agencies, or in private legal matters
  • Holding meetings with clients in order to discuss details of a case
  • Conducting research and analysis of legal problems
  • Analyzing the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents
  • Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for clients
  • Filing briefs and other legal writings on behalf of clients
  • Preparing and filing legal documents

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Graduate of an accredited institution by the American Bar Association (ABA) with a Juris Doctor (J.D.); degree completed with a specialization in corporate law or any related field required
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of [insert] (state LLB or JD) required
  • Bilingual in Spanish ( MUST)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a legal department and/or litigation experience
  • Demonstrated case analysis ability and a track record of proven settlement skills
  • Knowledge of business lawsuit matters
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Proficient in internet and online research
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, printer, scanner, and computer
  • Accurate typing skills with the ability to type [50] WPM
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation usage
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills with an eye for details
