The US West Region is seeking candidates for a Regional Federal Market Sector Leader to drive business development, coordination, and project delivery of federal work across all business lines. We’re looking for a leader whose philosophy and practice is driven by a passion for the federal market sector, for clients, for collaboration, and for building business. The US West Region federal practice includes projects spanning federal DoD Agencies (e.g., USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, National Guard) and federal civilian accounts (e.g., Coast Guard, NASA, DOE, etc.) to deliver infrastructure solutions including transportation, buildings, water, environment, and other facility-related solutions. Primary responsibility is to lead and grow an integrated multi-disciplinary federal practice with a focus on innovation, design excellence, and thought leadership, while positioning AECOM in the delivery of projects for federal defense and civilian agencies.
**This position can be based in any location across the West Region.**
The Regional Federal Market Sector Leader will be responsible for achieving annual sales goals through keen understanding of the federal planning, design, building, and program management marketplace and ability to lead and win key pursuits. The Regional Federal Market Sector Leader will also work with business line leaders and client account managers on targeted pursuits and programs.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following, coordinating across business lines to:
+ Provide day-to-day administration and coordination of market practice within the US West Region
+ Develop federal strategy, define strategic priorities, and establish annual sales, revenue, and gross margin goals
+ Monitor the status of all federal DoD and federal civilian market pursuits, programs, and projects based in the West region
+ Lead capture strategy on key marketing and business development opportunities
+ Support and/or lead strategic/key proposals, including contract and teaming negotiations
+ Develop and maintain positive relationships with consultants, contractors and jurisdictional/approval agencies
+ Lead or assist in pursuit and client engagement and act as program or project lead on strategic or mega accounts
+ Work closely with federal leadership from other regions on the execution of key growth initiatives and strategies
+ Provide presentation/briefs at the regional level
+ 12 years of related business development and project delivery experience, including 10 years in the Federal sector.
+ 4 years of leadership experience.
+ Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related degree.
+ Experience in strategic business development, client relationship development and management, and driving sales and revenue
+ Experience supporting and leading federal business development activities through early client interaction, scope of work development, interviews, and on-going client maintenance interface
+ Understanding of federal market, regional client needs, market drivers, and alternative delivery strategies
+ Working experience and relationships with federal DoD Agencies (e.g., USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, National Guard) and understanding and experience across federal civilian accounts (e.g., Coast Guard, NASA, DOE, etc.)
+ Experience with Design Excellence initiatives (i.e., GSA, DOS)
+ Experience working across multiple business lines to drive collaboration, successful business development, and efficient project/program delivery
+ Experience delivering federal projects or programs
+ Active member in multiple federally-focused industry organizations
+ Passion for leadership, collaboration, mentoring, and career development
