**Job Summary** **AECOM** is actively seeking a versatile, self-motivated, independent GIS Analyst for immediate employment in the Oakland, CA office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of GIS principles with a detail-oriented approach to cartographic design and spatial analysis. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: + Ability to work independently and with other GIS staff across multiple offices to support a wide range of projects. + Work closely with project teams and clients to understand project needs and deliver GIS solutions of moderate to significant scope and complexity + Analyzes technical problems and devises new approaches and alternative solutions + Processes and analyzes raster and vector geospatial data in support of clients and staff including engineers, biologists, hydrologists, and geologists + Performs geospatial analyzes + Reviews data for currency, accuracy, quality, or completeness of documentation and metadata + Ensures that information management quality assurance procedures comply with AECOM standards and procedures + Provides documentation on the source and evolution of spatial data + Creates, collects, converts, analyses and integrates geospatial and non-spatial datasets in accordance with industry standards + Creates, edits, and maintains geospatial databases and metadata on multiple simultaneous projects + Produces a variety of mapping products for presentations, reports, and other documents + Develop web maps (AGOL, ArcGIS Portal) and Esri field solutions (ArcGIS Collector/Field Maps and Survey123) for project staff to collect and review project data + Support field work by developing data collection solutions for projects and going into the office as needed to prepare GPS equipment. **About AECOM’s Environment Business Line** Join AECOM to be part of an expert global team who is connected through a well-developed, worldwide, internal technical practice network through which you can learn from and brainstorm with the best in the world. We help clients reduce their impact on the environment, achieve compliance and reduce risks. **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science or related field + 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar GIS multidisciplinary project support role + Adaptable team member, happy to work autonomously in dynamic work environments + Excellent understanding of the ESRI suite of products + Experience using ArcGIS Online and/or ArcGIS Portal + Technical knowledge of geographic concepts, including coordinate systems, data collection methods, spatial data management, analysis, data visualization and cartographic design + Strong technical ability, with excellent problem-solving skills + Ability to provide innovative solutions to problems applying sound spatial analysis and data management practices **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience in engineering industry or state government also highly regarded + Experience publishing and managing data with ArcGIS Collector/Field Maps and Survey123 + Scripting/programming knowledge highly regarded + Experience processing and analyzing lidar and raster data + Working knowledge of Enterprise database systems (ArcGIS for Server) + Certified GISP **Additional Information:** + Due to the nature of this role, US citizenship is required. **What We Offer** We will give you the flexibility you need to do your best work with hybrid work options.
