SUPERVISOR:             Corps Officer(s), Majors Julius & Shannon Murphy

STATUS:                      Exempt / Full-Time

The Director Of Operations will give oversight for the day-to-day operations of all human resources, programs and facilities for all locations of The Salvation Army in Yuba & Sutter Counties. 



  1. Provide direct supervision for all operations and programs in the absence of the corps officers.
  2. Provide general direction of daily operations
  3. Direct Human Resources for all operations
  4. Direct the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, supervision, discipline, evaluation and development of all staff
  5. Coordinate staff scheduling with program managers to ensure appropriate staffing levels
  6. Coordinate weekly timesheets and payroll
  7. Manage all facilities and property development
  8. Manage vehicle fleet
  9. Serve as purchasing agent for and manage the inventory of supplies, furnishings and equipment
  10. Coordinate safety practice and procedures in compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  11. Develop and implement program plans and budgets with corps officers
  12. Provide direct supervision and coordination of Red Kettle Campaign
  13. Provide direct supervision of workforce development program and staff
  14. Develop and implement the workforce development program
  15. Establish and implement strategic goals for the workforce development program
  16. Develop and manage appropriate evaluation and reporting process to determine workforce development program success and effectiveness
  17. Develop and maintain key partnerships with external stakeholders
  18. Assist corps officer with all matters relating to Finance, including budgets, requisitions, proposals for purchase, property proposals and other matters needing approval of the Command Finance Council (CFC).
  19. Serve as a representative on the Advisory Board
  20. Perform other assignments/duties as directed by corps officer(s)



  1. Knowledge of, and familiarity with, human resource management, budget planning and accessing implementation of operation budget
  2. Ability to develop and administer facility budgets
  3. Ability to speak and write the English language at a high and professional level
  4. High degree of confidentiality
  5. Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel and Outlook preferred
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  7. Excellent and professional telephone etiquette and presence
  8. Excellent organizational skills
  9. Approach problem solving creatively
  10. Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks



  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Social Work or minimum of 5 year’s experience in business development, planning, management and administration
  2. Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle
  3. Must be 21 years or older
  4. Authorize The Salvation Army to add name to the CA DMV Pull Notice Program
  5. Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.
