Job Description

Job Summary: 

Supports operations by assisting in product, personnel and member issues, answering general questions, and assists supervisor in all other tasks 

Accountabilities:  

  1. Helps the Operations Manager supervise members and staff
  2. Documents employee and member issues accordingly
  3. Maintains and enforces the highest level of customer service at all times while complying with all company policies and procedures
  4. Conducts regular cleaning, and housekeeping
  5. Supervises staff to ensure each performs their own duties
  6. Open and closes club ensuring safety and security of club and all items
  7. Assists and reports on monthly club sales goals
  8. Updates and creates member accounts as required
  9. Generates reports as needed
  10. Serves alcohol when required in conformity with state law and internal policy
  11. Serves food when required in conformity with state law and internal policy
  12. Conducts locker room checks and other actions to ensure a clean club
  13. Maintains regular and predictable attendance
  14. Ability to communicate effectively with members, coworkers and supervisor verbally and in writing
  15. Works in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
  16. Enforces and reports violations of physical distancing and any other health and safety ordinance, order, law or regulation to manager, safety committee member or Compliance
  17. Follows all healthy and safety requirements such as, but not limited to, physical distancing, regular surface cleaning, cough/sneeze etiquette, regular hand washing, and not coming to work when sick
  18. Promptly and thoroughly reviews all requested health and safety training provided, asking questions for any topic not clearly understood
  19. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age  
  • High school diploma or GED  
  • 3 months experience at California Family Fitness or 1 year experience in hospitality or customer service
  • Understanding of basic fitness knowledge
  • Current CPR/AED/FIRST AID certification (within 60 days of employment, company provided) 
  • Alcohol/food certification as required

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Ability to transfer between various club locations
  • Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of telephone and in-person customer complaint resolution and de-escalation techniques
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to coach and supervise employees
