General: To uphold the standards of restaurant cleanliness according to Sacramento 49er Travel Plaza and Silver Skillet policies and procedures. Responsible for preparing orders as requested by guests. Responsible for controlling portions as set by management and to present plates in accordance with instructions and/or manual.
Responsibilities:
Knows the menu items, presentation, and portions
Controls waste
Ensures sufficient quantity of stock to produce all menu items
Follows all safety food and handling procedures
Follows appropriate safety procedures and reports all accidents immediately to management
Maintains a clean work area in accordance with cleaning schedule and/or instructions from the supervisor
Assists in prep when needed
Coordinates with other employees to increase speed and efficiency
Understands kitchen and storage layout and knows location of specific food items
Understands the correct cooking time and temperature for all food products on the menu
Ensures the dishwasher is operating efficiently and remains in good condition.
Washes all dishes, pots and pans and returns to appropriate stations. Rotates continuously.
Follow all safety food and handling procedures.
Follows appropriate safety procedures and reports all accidents immediately to management.
May assist in training of other dish personnel as requested by the restaurant manager.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
California SafeServe certificate.
Food Handler Certification
Ability to walk, stand and/or bend continuously to perform essential job functions.
Must be able to lift, push, pull and move food and supplies between 25 – 50 lbs.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.
