ACRC is seeking a Nursing Consultant at the Sacramento office. Specifically, this position will support client transition activity from Sonoma Developmental Center, Porterville Developmental Center, and Fairview Developmental Center. This position assists Regional Center operations by providing nursing assessments and assisting in integrating the assessment into the individual programs for developmentally disabled adults and by serving as a consultant to staff and community groups as required. The Nursing Consultant will assess the developmental and health care management needs of clients, advise Service Coordination staff in regards to level of nursing care and equipment needs, assist staff in locating nursing care services to provide appropriate care to clients, review Medicaid client charts for certification/decertification process and data entry and audits of compliance for Medicaid Waiver requirements, consult on health care questions from staff, and conduct in-service instruction and continuing education opportunities for staff.
Applicants must posses a RN License from the State of California; two years of increasingly responsible public health nursing experience in family or adult health; knowledge of nursing principles, methods, procedures, and equipment applicable to serving the developmentally disabled; knowledge of training and consultative techniques, community organization and resources, and programs and services for the developmentally disabled; knowledge of developmental process from conception through adulthood, health and disease aspects of diagnosis, and treatment and management of developmentally disabled children and adults; excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking; and excellent interpersonal skills, organization, and time management. BSN or MSN strongly preferred. Other requirements and qualifications apply.
