The CA. Department of Social Services' Office of Equity Division is recruiting for a Staff Services Manager I (SSM I).
An Ombudsperson is an advocate for the rights of a vulnerable population. The incumbent in this position advocates for current & former foster youths by managing a toll-free hot line, overseeing web and social media messaging, and actively informing youth, their caregivers and providers of the youth's rights and reasonable parenting standards via in person and virtual trainings and events.
This incumbent will coordinate the development of training curriculum, calendaring of outreach & training events, evaluation tools, and delivery of outreach and trainings to foster youth, resource families, county child welfare agencies and other organizations on the rights of children and youth in foster care and topics related to improving the child welfare system. Leads OFCO training sessions, including those offered after hours including weekends. Oversees staff activities associated with intaking and screening of complaints, community outreach & training, and investigations.
