The Driver will provide transportation to community residents. Possesses the ability to organize routing and work load efficiently, to establish positive relationship with staff, participants and families, to reason and make judgments, to handle emergency situations effectively and calmly and to complete and maintain required records. A sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate to both frail elderly and disabled adults. Possesses the ability to cope with situations characterized by frequent change, to perform adequately under stress when confronted with.
Valid California driver’s license and ability to operate a large van with skill and safety. Must be 21 years of age or older. No moving violations and/or accidents within the last three years. Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain any special operator’s licenses necessary for operation of the van (Class B License including required medical clearance). Experience with handicapped transportation preferred.
Knowledge of the transport and transfer of handicapped frail elderly and/or physically handicapped adults or ability to acquire this knowledge. Knowledge of basic mechanical procedure, or ability to acquire this knowledge.
Must have or obtain:
CPR certification, First Aid certification, Class B driver’s license.
