United States of America - California, Sacramento **Job Summary** * Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. * Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. * Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. * Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered. * Identifies discrepancies in results. * Provides guidance to entry level engineers. * Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision. **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's Degree + 5+ years of related experience. + Extensive knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, and procedures. Knowledge of bridge design codes used in California. + Experience with bridge design codes used by Caltrans, railroad companies, and transit agencies. + Experience with highway bridges, rural bridges, railroad bridges, and transit bridges and other transportation related structures in California. + Experience in seismic analysis and design of bridges in California. + Experience in developing plans, specifications and engineering estimates in Caltrans format. + Detail oriented. + Strong analytical skills. + Excellent initiative. + Ability to work under pressure. + Strong organizational skills. + Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations. + Recognizes limitations in standard technical procedures and seeks creative solutions. + Good leadership skills. + Experience in developing plans, specifications and engineering estimates meeting company and client standards. + Recognizes limitations in standard technical procedures and seeks creative solutions. + Ability to lead, supervise or coordinate the work of engineers, CADD drafters, technicians and others who assist in specific assignments. **Preferred Qualifications** + Masters of Engineering in Civil or Structures. + Professional Engineer (Civil) in California. + Soil-structure analysis and design experience is a plus. + Experience in finite element analysis modeling, including shell, plate and solid elements is a plus. + Proficiency with CADD is a plus. **What We Offer** When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
