Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Sacramento Diagnostic Imaging (On-Call)
Provides imaging, therapeutic, and patient care services at defined levels to patients.
+ Implements radiation protection and safety standards to minimize radiation exposure to staff and patients.
+ Maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
+ Maintains mandated continuing education requirements.
+ May be required to train / precept students and new techs.
+ Operates a variety of complex stationary diagnostic equipment.
+ Orders, prepares, administers, and disposes radiopharmaceuticals and/or agents according to established protocols.
+ Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
**MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS**
**Education including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration:**
+ Complete understanding of Nuclear Medicine methodology, equipment and radiopharmaceuticals is necessary.
+ Graduate of a JRCERT accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
+ Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB); Or, ARRT Registered Technologist, R.T.(N)in goodstanding; Or, eligible to take the Nuclear Medicine registration exam.
+ BLS Healthcare Provider CPR required.
+ State Licensure (CNMT) is required.
+ Knowledge of radiation safety principles, hazardous materials management and infection control guidelines.
+ Must have previous experience as a nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital environment.
+ Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a rapidly changing and challenging environment and take appropriate actions in emergent situations.
