Clinical Research Coordinator I - Sutter Institute for Medical Research
The **Clinical Research Coordinator I** has responsibility for managing studies that primarily involve data collection and patient interviewing, and short-term studies (less than 10 patients over 6 months) that explore basic, general medicine (acute) research questions.This is an exempt position that may require overnight travel and weekend assignments.
**MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS**
+ Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent education and experience.
+ Course work in medical terminology and procedures is required.
+ Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.
+ Achievement of certification as CCRP or CCRC - clinical research coordinator certification obtained within 2 years in this position.SoCRA or ACRP Certification valid.
· One year minimum experience in managing clinical trials required.
· Experience with Case Report Forms (paper and electronic).
· Prior experience with patient recruitment, enrollment and retention.
· Prior experience demonstrating the ability to prioritize and organize work is preferred.
· Previous full-time experience working with patients in a variety of settings in the health care industry desirable.
+ Working knowledge of FDA regulations protecting human subjects in research required.
+ Basic understanding of safeguarding confidential information required.
+ Knowledge of clinical trials process and procedures in oncology, and/or general medicine.

+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written are necessary.
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary
+ Must be able to interact positively and in a caring manner with research patients.
+ Familiarity with PC-based software for word processing and spreadsheets required.
+ Phlebotomy certification required within 3 months of hire.
**·** **Physical Requirements:**
· This position requires manual dexterity, repetitive motion, and prolonged standing; sitting and walking; frequent bending, reaching and stooping.
· This person must be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform the specific essential functions of this position.
This position may require flexibility in the percentage of travel, which includes out-of-town meetings conducted over weekends.
