The Senior Engineering Specialist – Laundry Mechanic isresponsible for the overall maintenance of the laundry equipment and machinery, including installing parts, repairing and performing preventive maintenance on all equipment related to the operation of the Laundry Room. The Senior Engineering Specialist is responsible for the effective overall operation of the Engineering Department in meeting the 24-hour demands of a successful Casino/Resort operation and will respond to job assignments including, but not limited to, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of all mechanical equipment and related components as directed. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “Winning Attitude” company-wide culture and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
Perform tasks under the supervision of the Engineering Supervisor, Chief Engineer, Facilities Manager, and Director of Facilities.
Make all necessary repairs to maintain the property’s operations, as well as specific equipment tailored to specialized discipline of the Team Member hired for this position.
Responsible for repair and maintenance of laundry and related equipment and ensuring that all equipment is operating at full capacity.
Ensure that Hotel, Spa, and Food & Beverage linens, terry, and robes are washed and prepared to AAA Four Diamond presentation standards.
Maintain a full understanding of all equipment and preventive maintenance programs.
Conduct quality checks of laundry and housekeeping hamper wheels as necessary and create a maintenance schedule for these components.
Perform other duties and assignments as requested by the Laundry Manager and Engineering management.
Respond to all internal and external Guest complaints promptly and efficiently to avoid Guest inconvenience or discomfort.
Become thoroughly familiar with all systems throughout the property.
Responsible for training less experienced Team Members.
Maintain all electrical tools and maintenance equipment.
Ensure that all established rules, regulations, policies and procedures are strictly followed.
Formulate a bill of materials to accomplish all tasks.
Systematically prepare to assume job assignments ensuring necessary equipment, parts, and materials are available and tasks can be accomplished efficiently and safely.
Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of complicated tasks.
Maintain understanding of SDS sheets, along with location of SDS books throughout property.
Be familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals and electrical equipment.
Two (2) years of experience in a commercial laundry or related setting is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical specifications.
Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, welding, hot water boilers, and steam boilers. Boiler knowledge including the ability to explain the functions and operations of all controls on a boiler, ability to light off a boiler in a safe manner, methods of feeding water to a boiler, proper procedures to blow down a boiler in a safe manner, proper water operating levels, and emergency procedures.
Senior Engineering Specialist must be proficient ("Journeyman" level specific in two building trades or demonstrate "A Master level in a specific trade, i.e., State Licensed Electrician, Certified Refrigeration Mechanic with all applicable certifications and licenses, or CFC certifications specific training from accredited institutes for that discipline.
Must have a valid California driver’s license.
Must maintain all licenses and certifications presently held or necessary for specific area of expertise. If state and federal requirements require updating and/or additional requirements, it is the responsibility of the Sr. Engineering Specialist to meet the new requirements.
Requires the ability to use and carry job related equipment.
