Under supervision, the Construction Materials Laboratory Technician Level I/II samples and performs tests on a variety of construction materials (soils, asphalt, concrete, etc.) in the field or laboratory to ensure compliance with various requirements, plans, specifications, and contracts; and keeps written records and reports of activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of full-time, paid experience sampling, testing or inspecting construction materials such as soil, asphalt, and concrete.
Note: Successful completion of college coursework from an accredited college in the fields of engineering, mathematics, chemistry, physics, construction technology or other related physical sciences may substitute for up to one year of the required experience on the basis of 30 semester (or 45 quarter) units is equivalent to one year of work experience.
