The Neurodiagnostic Services Clerk serves as the initial contact between the Neurodiagnostic Laboratory (NDL), the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), and their clients at Sutter Memorial Hospital and Sutter General Hospital.
This position requires knowledge of office procedures in three work areas. With limited supervision, provides clerical duties to include; scheduling appointments, greeting patients and other visitors, database entry, creating and maintaining files, and answering the telephone.
Must have a high school education or equivalent in work and/or experience.
Experience in a medical office environment and customer service experience preferred.
Ability to type 20 wpm is required.
Familiarity with medical terminology.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office is desirable.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a computer, 5-line telephone system, file alphabetically and numerically.
Proven verbal and written communication skills with excellent customer relation skills.
Must be able to work in different work environments and with constantly changing priorities.
Ability to lift 15 pounds.
