Job Description

There is an additional 3.35% Management Differential which is added to the posted salary for this class. 

Assistant Clerk to the Board of Supervisors is designated as a “confidential” first level management job class. Incumbents serve in the absence of the Clerk of the Board and oversee divisions/programs including legislative management, budget and administrative operations for the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors and Clerk of the Board, grant application and management, Fair Political Practices Commission Compliance, Passport Acceptance and membership/appointments to boards and commissions.  On behalf of the Clerk, incumbents also support the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors, Assessment Appeals Board, Planning Commission, Regional Sanitation Districts and approximately 37 other boards and commissions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Either: 1. Three years of full-time, paid experience as clerical support for a board or commission, one year of which must have been supervisory.   

Or: 2. Three years of full-time, paid experience in a public jurisdiction with responsibilities for staff development, budget development and monitoring, or development of policies and procedures. One year of this experience must have been supervisory.
