Job Description

This is a continuous filing exam. Next filing cut-offs are at 5:00 pm on: 

5/9/25, 5/23/25, 6/20/25 (final)

Under general supervision, performs skilled rough and finished carpentry work using standard trade practices and skills to build, install, and repair a variety of County owned objects and structures.

Minimum Qualifications 

Either:  Successful completion of a four-year state accredited carpenter apprenticeship program in a commercial and/or industrial environment.

Or: Four years of full-time paid experience performing carpentry work.

Note: A General Building Contractor license will be accepted as a substitute for the minimum qualifications stated above.

Note: If the word “experience” is referenced in the minimum qualifications, it means full-time paid experience unless the minimum qualification states that volunteer experience is acceptable.  Part-time paid experience may be accumulated and pro-rated to meet the total experience requirements.

Note: If the minimum qualifications include an educational or certificate/license requirement, applicants must submit proof of requirements with the application.
