Associate Management Auditor
Under general direction provided by the Audit Manager (Senior Management Auditor), you will perform at the advanced journey level in leading, working with a group of audit teams, or performing complex, difficult, and sensitive engagements (audits, attestations, and/or reviews) in an independent and proficient manner.
A Staff Management Auditor (Specialist) may be assisted by Associate Management Auditors and/or Staff Services Management Auditors in the performance of engagements in a single agency or a small group of related agencies. You may also be assigned to other projects within the division that require an advanced journey level auditor skill set.

Make sure you meet the Minimum Qualifications (Applicants must possess the equivalent to graduation from college, with a minimum of 6 units of accounting coursework completed AND Two years of increasingly responsible auditing and/or accounting experience or management consultant experience which shall have involved preparation of reports and presentations of audit findings, at least one year must have included duties at a level equivalent to that of an Associate Management Auditor in State service.)

As the chief fiscal officer of California, the fourth largest economy in the world, the Controller’s office is responsible for the accountability and disbursement of the state’s financial resources. The Controller independently audits government agencies that spend state funds and administers the payroll system for state government employees and California State University employees. The Controller also safeguards many types of property until claimed by the rightful owners. The Controller serves on 70 boards and commissions with authority affecting policies ranging from land management, affordable housing, and alternative transportation to crime victim compensation and health and educational facilities. They are a member of numerous financing authorities, fiscal and financial oversight entities including the Franchise Tax Board and Board of Equalization. They also serve on the boards of the nation's two largest public pension funds. The Controller is one of eight statewide constitutional officials who are elected every four years in California.
