Under direction, the Supervising Custodian II supervises, assigns, and reviews the work of staff responsible for the cleaning, sanitizing and care of designated County facilities; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; and performs the more technical and complex tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility.
Knowledge of

- Use and care of materials, chemicals and equipment used in custodial work methods
- Proper handling of bio-hazardous materials and bodily fluids
- Applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations; including safety laws, rules, methods and procedures (e.g. applicable OSHA regulations applied to ensure the safety of staff, the public, and building occupants)
- Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other specialized applications related to area of assignment
- English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
Ability to
- Supervise, select, train, and evaluate staff
- Plan, coordinate, assign, and review the work of subordinate staff
- Investigate and resolve disciplinary issues
- Work independently, prioritize work, coordinate activities and meet critical deadlines
- Monitor and interpret budgets and other financial documents

Minimum Qualifications
Either: 1. One year of full-time, paid experience employed by the County of Sacramento in the class of Supervising Custodian I.
Or: 2. Two years of full-time, paid experience supervising the work of custodial personnel engaged in the cleaning and care of health care, commercial, industrial and/or public buildings or facilities.
