Provides leadership and senior staff support on transformational initiatives and projects that accelerate the achievement of results in priority areas for Sutter Health. Partners with Sutter Health Senior Executives and assigned Project Managers to implement system strategic initiatives. These initiatives are designed to achieve Sutter Health's goal of leading the transformation of health care to achieve the highest levels of quality, access, and affordability. Provides mentoring and oversight to assigned staff to ensure effective management of projects and achievement of intended results. Engagement deliverables result in practical, significant, and measurable improvements in quality, service and efficiency across the organization. Builds collaborative relationships with regional and system leaders, affiliate management teams, physician leaders, and project resources including consultants, contractors and other vendors. Supervises assigned staff to oversee project design, provide oversight, and ensure organizational alignment/ linkages/ execution per agreed upon expectations. Provides leadership, training and mentoring to assigned staff regarding development and use of project management methodology, processes, and tools, and management of scope, issues, risks, work plans, communications, resources and budgets across multiple simultaneous projects. Identifies and overcomes barriers to project success. Serves as a driver of and liaison to internal and external project stakeholder groups. Acts as a champion for change directly and through colleagues and direct reports, by using a comprehensive set of defined skills/methodologies and a rigorous, data driven approach to strategy implementation and the execution of work plans. Ensures alignment of assigned projects and programs with Sutter Health strategy, dashboard performance improvement and business growth goals.
+ Significant proven executive level healthcare management experience with demonstrated leadership in strategic and business planning, financial planning and analysis, program development and physician development required.
+ Highly experienced in project management, development and facilitation of planning sessions with senior executives, directors/trustees, management and consultants and proven ability in management/leadership skills.
+ Experience engaging and working in a team environment required.
+ Proven effectiveness in leading large scale change required.
+ Experience implementing large-scale/ complex/ political change initiatives required.
+ Experience supervising/ managing effective teams required.
+ Knowledge of health care operations/ health care delivery, project management, and quality improvement is required.
+ Knowledge of the Northern California healthcare industry, particularly Sutter Health, preferred.
+ Requires strong leadership/ management skills.
+ Requires the ability to effectively oversee multiple projects simultaneously as well as manage/ lead/ facilitate large and diverse teams to deliver results within specified timeframes.
+ High level of operational thinking/ expertise to understand and analyze healthcare operations and become a trusted advisor quickly.
+ Well developed conceptual, analytical and negotiation skills necessary, along with strong skills/ experience in creatively solving complex problems, developing actionable recommendations and effectively strategizing with executives.
+ Must be detail oriented and self directed - able to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
+ Results driven in order to drive quantifiable initiative success throughout SH.
