The Registered Nurse in the Acute Care setting manages the patient/family experience through utilization of critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and nursing judgment/knowledge/skills.
Community- Promotes a positive relationship between Sutter Health and the community.
Finance - Utilizes resources to deliver quality care in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
Growth - Actively manages patient/family plan of care throughout the hospitalization to achieve optimal
transition and progression toward discharge for patient/family.
People -Coordinates the activities of the health care team in a professional manner according to the
Standards of Excellence promoting a positive work environment.
Quality- Provides optimal care to patients' and family which is collaborative, evidence based and meets
national/facility standards to achieve the best possible outcome.
Service - Cares for patient/family according to the Sutter Difference standards and activities ensuring the best
**MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:**
**Education/ Knowledge, including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration**
Current licensure California RN or Interim Permitee; BLS -Health Care Provider.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BS preferred.
Acute care experience preferred
Experience in area of clinical specialty preferred
+ Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills and effective English written and communication skills.
+ Aware of adult learning principles in providing teaching of patients and their significant others.
+ Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS-HCP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred in specialty areas.
+ Knowledge of nursing proces in the assessment of physical and psychological needs of patients and their significant others.
Independently practices and prioritizes multiple demands in an ever-changing environment. Good interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) and teamwork skills are required.
**Department Specific Requirements:**
CICU and ICU:
ACLS upon hire or within 6 months of start date and must be maintained.
A minimum of one year recent critical care experience preferred
