Job Description

**Position Overview:** **Job Summary** + Under supervision of the Center Manager, the Activities Coordinator Lead oversees the direct planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the recreational and educational activities of participants at Sutter SeniorCare + Provides input with recruiting and evaluation of Activity Coordinators + Assists , trains, and supervises Activities Coordinators’ and volunteers + Ensures all state and federal regulations for the activities department are met + Completes all required documentation + Operates within the established budget guidelines + Assures that a program of activities is provided, appropriate to meet the needs of the participants + Helps to build a sense of community and warm social atmosphere, and assures the safety and security of participants **Qualifications:** **Education/Knowledge/Licensure:** • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university required • Computer knowledge and experience in using Microsoft desktop publishing/calendaring and outlook computer programs • Must have knowledge of needs of the elderly, such as mobility limitations, sensory impairment and cognitive loss • Must have completed at least 36 hours of training in a course designed for activities programming and approved by the State Department of Aging/Department of Health Services • Certification in CPR and First Aide within six months of hire is required and must be maintained • Recreation Certification (CTRS) is required and must be maintained **Experience:** • Two years experience in a social or recreational program within the past 5 years, one of which was a patient activities program in a health care setting is preferred • Leadership experience is preferred **Skills:** • Sensitivity to the activities and educational needs of various ethnic groups is essential • Bilingual in English, Spanish, Tagalog, or Chinese is desirable, but not required • Requires good organizational skills and the ability to organize multiple tasks • Must be flexible in adapting to non-routine situations, such as, staffing shortages, changes in the program as a result of changing participant needs, etc • Requires an ability to work cooperatively and congenially with the interdisciplinary team, staff, and participants from diverse cultural backgrounds • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills • Must have ability to travel to purchase supplies and between sites **Organization:** Sutter Senior Care **Employee Status:** Regular **Benefits:** Yes **Position Status:** Non-Exempt **Union:** No **Job Shift:** Day/Evening **Shift Hours:** 8 Hour Shift **Days of the Week Scheduled:** Other **Weekend Requirements:** Other **Schedule:** Full Time **Hrs Per 2wk Pay Period:** 80 All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, registered domestic partner status, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, ancestry, national origin (including possession of a driver's license issued to individuals who did not present proof of authorized presence in the U.S.), age, medical condition, physical or mental disability, military or protected veteran status, political affiliation, pregnancy or perceived pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding or related medical condition, genetic information or any other characteristic made unlawful by local, state, or federal law, ordinance or regulation.
