The Accounting Analyst prepares, reviews, and analyzes consolidated financial statements to satisfy the Sutter Health System’s monthly and quarterly financial reporting requirements. The Accounting Analyst reviews affiliate financials for compliance with GAAP and standardization throughout the Sutter Health System, resolves audit issues as identified by the system’s external auditors, and assists in the preparation of the audited financial statements and footnotes. In addition, the Accounting Analyst facilitates the implementation of standardized policies and procedures throughout the Sutter Health System in an effort to achieve consistent financial statement presentation and is responsible for other projects, such as accounting for bonds and reporting charitable activities.
• **Education** :
Requires a B.S. degree in Business Administration with an Accounting or Finance emphasis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A M.B.A. degree and/or C.P.A. is desired.
• **Experience** :
Must have 2-3 years of progressive experience in managerial and general accounting. In addition, a good working knowledge of healthcare accounting issues and requirements, experience in multi-entity consolidations with intercompany activity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with on-going deadlines are preferred. Previous experience in the healthcare industry is desired.
• **Knowledge** :
A working knowledge of managerial and general accounting principles, financial reporting, multi-entity consolidations, and general audit requirements are required. In addition, a strong knowledge of personal computers and software - which includes the use of spreadsheets, graphs, word processing, database management, and importing/exporting - is preferred.
• **Special Skills/Equipment** :
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. In addition, excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to work with all levels of management, to translate complex system issues to non-financial managers and to work autonomously, as well as part of a team.
• **Physical Requirements** :
Must be able to sit at a desk and/or a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to lift 5 – 10 pounds.
