The Covered California Financial Management Team is seeking a Financial Planning Specialist  for the Sacramento team!

Financial Planning Specialists support the success of Covered California by analyzing and interpreting financial data of the organization and the market to prepare reports on current or pending financials. As a Financial Planning Specialist you will collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure that forecasts and plans accurately reflect current industry activity while identifying risks/opportunities. This position will leverage your skills to continually improve forecast integrity by utilizing internal and external resources, researching new financial metrics and modeling techniques, bench marking, and data analytics. You may Participate in the analysis of legislation and other regulations which affect changes in rates, rate reductions, added benefits and their associated costs, and policy initiatives for their potential impact to the organization. You will be responsible for drafting clear and concise financial reports on a recurring and ad-hoc basis to provide stakeholders with financial visibility to drive strategic business decisions.

 The classification for this role is a Research Data Specialist I

Minimum Qualifications 

Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor's degree. (Or Equivalent) AND Four years of progressively responsible technical research experience engaged in the collection, compilation, analysis, and interpretation of data

Desirable Qualifications

  • Superior proficiency with MS Excel & complex financial modeling
  • Knowledge of SQL and Tableau data visualization software
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with all levels of interested parties,
  • Excellent personal computer technical, analytical, statistical, interpersonal, communication skills, and presentation skill
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to be extremely effective independently; able to work with minimal direction
  • Must be able to critically think, problem solve, and perform analysis under ambiguity.  
  • Experience financial planning / analyzing in the healthcare industry
