Manages approved projects that have varying levels of complexity from conception through completion to include scope, time, cost, and quality. Provides leadership to project teams as well as to junior members and project coordinators from the project management team. Is accountable for adhering to the SPS Project Management methodology.
Manages multiple projects of varying complexity concurrently across many areas, including, but not limited to, infrastructure, workflow/business re-engineering, process development, application upgrades, and application/software development. Project teams are usually cross-functional in nature and may include vendor resources and operational / support staff in addition to SPS and Sutter Health team members. Creates and maintains project documents throughout the project life cycle such as charters, schedules, and budgets; identifying and tracking resources and their work efforts; overseeing the development of requirements, current state and future state workflows, and project deliverables; risk and issue management and escalation; project change requests; and all project communications with stakeholders.
+ Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent education/experience
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) required
+ 4+ years' experience in Project Management required
+ 2+ years' IT experience preferred
+ Experience in the healthcare industry preferred
+ Experience with MS Project Schedule at intermediate level
+ Experience successfully managing the activities of teams in a functional or matrix environment, preferred
+ Teamwork experience both as a leader and a member of the development, coordination and implementation of projects.
**Skills & Knowledge**
+ Knowledge of formal project management methodologies or the Project Management Body of Knowledge® PMBOK®; must have the ability to use the project management techniques and organizational methods needed to successfully direct projects.
+ Understanding of project management techniques and communication skills needed to successfully direct complex projects.
+ Awareness of how organizations work and intermediate skills to navigate, influence, and manage within an established organization.
+ Intermediate skills in the usage of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint
+ Possess intermediate oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; includes presentations skills
+ Ability to perform duties in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision or direction
+ Proven organizational, problem solving and project management abilities
+ Ability to influence with and without direct control and/or authority
+ Demonstrate the ability to work independently, prioritize multiple objectives in a rapidly changing environment and ensure delivery of quality products
+ Ability to communicate complex concepts and ideas effectively to all levels within the organization.
+ Possess a collaborative working style and have the ability to develop / sustain productive work relationships with key stakeholders across all areas and levels of the organization as well as with external customers and vendors
