AECOM has more than 85,000 employees in a network of offices in 150 countries We are seeking a dynamic and experienced air quality manager for a leadership position on our California Air Quality Team. AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Air Quality Manager that can lead a group that prepares technically sound and legally defensible air quality and greenhouse gas (GHG) impact analyses and mitigation strategies, including stand-alone technical reports pursuant to CEQA/NEPA, IS/MND and EIR sections, EA/EIS sections, federal Conformity Analyses, and Caltrans/FHWA technical studies. The successful candidate will be well-versed in current trends, analysis methods, and regulatory changes as they pertain to air quality and greenhouse gas analyses in order to provide adequate quality control and quality assurance review of air quality and greenhouse gas impact analyses and mitigation strategies for a variety of projects. The candidate will also be responsible for proactive business development and marketing activities, establishing and developing relationships with clients that result in increased sales. The candidate will possess the technical experience and understanding to provide hands-on training to air quality staff for their professional growth. The location of this position is flexible to San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange, Ontario, San Francisco, Oakland, or Sacramento The successful applicant will support the execution of our California growth strategy, contribute to proposal and marketing efforts to gain new business, and provide technical support to a variety of public and private sector clients. The applicant should have expert level knowledge of air quality regulations and California-specific air quality experience. The applicant must have a demonstrated ability to sell and manage air quality project work. Responsibilities of this position will include being internally and externally visible as an air quality/GHG and CEQA expert that provides strategic guidance and quality control review of technical documents, keeping up to date on new air quality and greenhouse gas emissions regulatory developments,, selling and marketing to AECOM key clients, identification of new clients and air quality opportunities, execution of identified strategies to achieve growth in the air quality practice, collaboration with other AECOM staff to execute work and improve client relationships, identification of new hires to grow the California air quality and GHG practice, and senior leadership of projects involving air quality-related permitting and compliance services. The candidate will successfully market and sell work and manage projects while meeting cost, schedule, safety, and quality objectives. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating and communicating with clients, project team members, and AECOM account managers and market sector leaders and will support the professional development and growth of California air quality staff. **Minimum Requirements** + 10+ years' experience + Expert in strategic air quality permitting options, CEQA and NEPA air quality analyses and GHG assessments in California, including mitigation strategies and sustainability topics + Demonstrated knowledge of US EPA, California Air Resources Board, and local California air district regulations, related permit and CEQA guidelines + Experience running or managing current generation air quality models such as AERMOD, EMFAC, OFFROAD and CalEEMod and performing health risk assessments + Working knowledge of technical aspects of air quality analyses (dispersion modeling, emissions control, compliance and regulatory review, thresholds and analysis methods for regional air pollutants, localized impacts, health risk impacts, cumulative impacts, and odors) + Demonstrated proficiency in quantifying short-term construction and long-term operational air quality and GHG emissions for a variety of project types and scenarios using legally-defensible models, methods, and assumptions + Conversant with regulatory requirements related to power, industrial and oil & gas facilities + Must have Strong organizational and time management skills, Strong written and oral communication (including public speaking) and interpersonal skills, and Strong work ethic and professional demeanor + Proficient use of PC- based applications (MS Word and Excel) and good typing skills are required + Supervision of staff is expected **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., environmental science/engineering, chemical engineering, atmospheric science, meteorology, physics, chemistry) + Experience working with both private and public sector clients is strongly preferred. + 12+ years of relevant environmental experience specific to air permitting and environmental compliance + Experience directing, managing and coordinating technical tasks in a team environment to prepare permit applications, writing reports, documenting technical analyses, communicating with clients, and managing budgets + Successful marketing and sales experience + Independent thinker with a strategic mindset while being able to contribute to and work in a team atmosphere + Proactive behavior on projects, be detail oriented, and demonstrate initiative + Some experience in the Pacific Coast Region (Oregon, Washington and Alaska) **What We Offer** When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
