The Transportation Department of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Traffic Engineer for immediate employment in the San Jose and Sacramento offices. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an academic and / or working knowledge in Traffic Engineering specific to the traffic analysis using industry software. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including traffic planning, data analysis and traffic analysis. This position will be a key member of the Transportation Department in the San Jose and / or Sacramento office and is responsible for supporting traffic planning/engineering projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. Candidate will assist in the continued growth of the transportation planning business. This position will interact with both clients and staff and may be required to make professional presentations to clients or agency representatives from time to time. Must be able to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists. Other responsibilities include:
+ Perform analytical tasks including traffic data collection and data manipulation.
+ Perform traffic and capacity analysis on roadway networks.
+ Perform traffic analysis on roadway networks using transportation planning/engineering software including micro-simulation
+ Prepare written reports and presentations of project findings that support moving projects into design
+ BA / BS plus 4 years of relevant work experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
+ Experience using Vissim, Synchro and Microsimulation or other industry programs.
+ Strong communication skills, experience making presentations to clients
