This position supports the Orthopedic Service Line. Principal responsibilities include assessing and managing the medical care of patients in collaboration with the physician. The incumbent will also communicate with other nursing staff and referring physician to ensure the continuity and coordination of care.
**Education, Certifications and Licensure required for this position:**
+ Bachelors of Science in Nursing
+ Masters of Science or Master of Nursing degree, unless applicant began NP program before 1991
+ Current California RN license
+ Current California Nurse Practitioner license
+ Furnishing and DEA number
+ BLS certification
**Experience required for this position:**
+ Two years of experience as a registered nurse or nurse practitioner in an acute care setting is required
+ Documentation of what clinical experience was obtained during the formal nurse practitioner program that would demonstrate education in the care of surgical patients along with documentation of at least three (3) months prior experience in inpatient and/or outpatient settings demonstrating ability to work independently with surgical patients
