**POSITION SUMMARY** :
The Registered Nurse in the Acute Care setting manages the patient/family experience through utilization of critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and nursing judgment/knowledge/skills. Has primary accountability for patient outcomes.
Community- Promotes a positive relationship between Sutter Health and the community.
Finance - Utilizes resources to deliver quality care in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
Growth - Actively manages patient/family plan of care throughout the hospitalization to achieve optimal
transition and progression toward discharge for patient/family.
People -Coordinates the activities of the health care team in a professional manner according to the
Standards of Excellence promoting a positive work environment.
Quality- Provides optimal care to patients' and family which is collaborative, evidence based and meets
national/facility standards to achieve the best possible outcome.
Service - Cares for patient/family according to the Sutter Difference standards and activities ensuring the best
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS** :
**Education:** Current California RN licensure or interim permit to practice registered nursing.
**Experience:** Acute care experience is preferred. Experience in area of clinical specialty is preferred.
**Knowledge:** Demonstrate basic nursing skills. Demonstrate effective English written and verbal communication skills.
+ Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider.
+ Completion of hospital orientation
+ Demonstrate basic math skills
+ Demonstrate basic computer skills.
+ Demonstrate knowledge of community resources, legal policies relating to patient decisions and outcomes.
+ Demonstrate knowledge of the performance standards of other nursing team members.
+ Demonstrate skills in delegation, leadership and team management concept.
+ Completion of unit specific orientation.
+ Valid NRP
+ Demonstrates competency in neurovascular assessment and care of the neuro patient
+ Demonstrates competency in the care of the maternal patient and newborn
+ Knowledgeable in the use of the infant security system and equipment
