Job Description

SBM Management is currently looking to hire a Product Manager to join their team!  The Product Manager is a crucial position on the Agile SCRUM team and plays a key role in the success of the SBMinsite product. The Product Manager works closely with the development team, key stakeholders and directly with customers to understand the market needs. This person is responsible for conveying the market needs to the SCRUM team in the form of user stories. The Product Manager is also responsible for prioritizing the backlog based on business value and serving as the point person for the developers and QA members on the SCRUM team. The Product Manager participates in standard SCRUM ceremonies including stand-ups, backlog grooming, and sprint planning. The Product Manager is responsible for signing off on features to ensure they meet the agreed upon acceptance criteria and overall market need.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategy and direction for the product
  • Organizes and prioritizes product backlog
  • Business interface on requirements and status
  • Decides on release date for completed functionality
  • Responsible for the profitability of the product (ROI)
  • Involved daily in the sprint to provide clarifications
  • Accepts or rejects work result throughout the sprint
  • Presents scrum team accomplishments at sprint review

Supervisory Responsibilities                                                    

  • No direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Specific projects may require interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and appraising performance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Industry certifications strongly preferred. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. 
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, employees, and general public.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a detailed knowledge of the Agile framework and Scrum, Product Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • May be required to have a valid driver’s license and meet SBM Driver Approval requirements.
  • Able to manage executive expectations and say no when appropriate. 
  • Customer service, problem solving, time management, project management, planning, excellent communication, presentation, interviewing, coaching and training skills. 
  • Ability and experience working in a fast paced environment. 
  • Disciplined in source control and application versioning and must understand branching and merging methodologies.
