**Position Overview:** Responsible for the daily operation of the SMCS Non-Invasive cardiology department which provides EKG exams and support and Cardiac Sonography studies for SMCS inpatients and outpatients. Directs and implements policies, procedures and protocols in non-invasive cardiology and performs the following functions relating to staff: workflow coordination; staffing & scheduling; participates in evaluations, hiring, discipline and retention of staff; serves as department liaison to other areas in the facility; promotes communication and cooperation within the department and with other areas.Works closely with both the Adult and Pediatric Cardiovascular Medical Directors for Non-Invasive Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Surgery with QA processes, programmatic development, technology evaluation and other duties necessary to maintain competence and proficiency.Works closely with the nursing director of the department for the same as well as staff development, accountability and other departmental related responsibilities.This position will also work closely with the Cardiology nursing Director and Regional Cardiovascular Executive for strategic planning and program development as needed.Works with director on capital and operational budgets as a financial steward for the department and SMCS. **Qualifications:** **EDUCATION** + Associate’s Degree in general education or science required. **EXPERIENCE** + At least three years experience in all phases of the defined imaging encompassing neonatal, pediatric and adult echo required. **LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS** + American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – ARDMSrequired. + Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – RDCSrequired. + Basic Life Support Certification - HealthCare Provider - BLS-HCP required. **SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE** + Must maintain a working knowledge of the latest developments in cardiac sonography procedures and techniques. + Must be knowledgeable of technical factors, methodologies, and equipment necessary to obtain quality echocardiography studies for both pediatric and adult populations. + Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision. + Must be able to manage multiple personnel in a constantly changing and challenging environment. + Uses leadership and supervisory skills to oversee the patient/family experience, independently leads the practice and prioritization of multiple demands in a ever-changing environment. + Must possess basic computer knowledge and skills. + Must be able to work in a rapidly changing and challenging environments and take appropriate actions in emergent situations. **Organization:** Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento **Employee Status:** Regular **Benefits:** Yes **Position Status:** Exempt **Union:** No **Job Shift:** Variable **Shift Hours:** 8 Hour Shift **Days of the Week Scheduled:** Monday-Friday **Weekend Requirements:** Other **Schedule:** Full Time **Hrs Per 2wk Pay Period:** 80 All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, registered domestic partner status, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, ancestry, national origin (including possession of a driver's license issued to individuals who did not present proof of authorized presence in the U.S.), age, medical condition, physical or mental disability, military or protected veteran status, political affiliation, pregnancy or perceived pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding or related medical condition, genetic information or any other characteristic made unlawful by local, state, or federal law, ordinance or regulation.
