**Position Overview:** The **Registered Nurse** coordinates and provides the total care of the patient (physical, psycho-social, safety, rehabilitative, and learning needs) using the nursing process; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation pursuant to the objectives and policies of the Nursing Services Department of Sutter General and Sutter Memorial Hospitals. The patient population varies at each facility to include infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients. **Qualifications:** **MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:** **Education:** Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Current California RN license or interim permit. ACLS required and must maintain recognition PALS preferred. **Experience:** Acute care experience preferred. Experience in area of clinical specialty preferred. Prefer 2 years of clinical hospital experience. **Knowledge:** Knowledge of nursing process in the assessment of physical and psychological needs of patients and their significant others. Demonstrate basic nursing skills. Aware of adult learning principles in providing teaching of patients and their significant others. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS-HCP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred in specialty areas. **Special Skills/Equipment:** Possesses and employs communication skills with patients, visitors, and staff. Utilizes concepts and skills in providing continuity of patient care. Ability to maintain a cooperative/positive relationship with patients, physicians, visitors, staff, and personnel form supporting departments.
