**Position Overview:** The Cardiovascular Physician Assistant (CV-PA) outlined in the Delegation of Services Agreement, under the supervision of the attending CV surgeon provides surgical second assist including vein harvest for cardiovascular surgical patients, and assists in interventional cardiology and vascular surgery. The CA-PA provides care coordination by “daily rounding” in of CVSCU, Cardiac Progressive Care and CICU for CV surgical, thoracic, VAD, and transplant and Percutaneous valve patients using an organized multi-disciplinary team approach to provide continuity of care throughout the continuum. CV-PA’s participate with the surgical team for “stand-by cases,” such as TAVR and Laser Lead extractions. The incumbent also participates in data collection, clinical effectiveness/research studies and community outreach activities for cardiovascular procedures and services. Population served includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
