**Position Overview:** The Office of Patient Experience (OPE) Senior Analyst support the Quality and Safety Department to improve quality and patient safety. The analyst is responsible for developing new and implementing established processes for the measurement, analysis and reporting of quality and patient safety data in support of system wide Office of Patient Experience projects. This consultant/analyst is responsible for analytic project management, data modeling, statistical and narrative analyses and comparative performance reporting. The analyst gathers data from a variety of external, enterprise and local data systems to perform data transformations and analyses. This includes working with end-users to glean an understanding of the clinical/business tasks at hand. The analyst works closely with OPE project managers, analysts, and with end users to develop and present results in meaningful formats. Projects may include performance monitoring, patient safety, satisfaction, physician productivity, Pay for Performance, EMR reporting development, clinical population analyses, and program evaluations in terms of defining and measuring actionable items for the region’s affiliates, medical groups and aligned IPAs within the Sutter system. **Qualifications:** **Education** : A Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated health care data analysis and computer-modeling skills is required. An advanced degree is recommended. **Experience** : Must show competency with structured systems development techniques and proficiency with programming window-based software and in database concepts is required. Must have ability to concurrently manage multiple projects that are highly visible in the organization. Must have experience in presenting findings with recommendations orally and in writing to administration and clinicians. Prior health care, health plan or medical group experience. Clinical experience and experience with mainframe and PC data integration is desirable. **Knowledge** : Extensive knowledge of data analyses and queries, spreadsheet formats, CQI principles and report production is required. Knowledge of health care systems and general clinical operations. Must know and understand how to apply statistical methods. Knowledge of integrated healthcare system, hospital system and medical group issues are recommended. Must be able to perform and complete work assignments effectively and accurately with minimal direction and supervision. **Special Skills/Equipment** : Excellent analytical and organization skills are required, as well as the ability to present complicated information to administrators, physicians and clinical staff in a concise meaningful manner. An ability to prioritize multiple projects and information requests is critical. **Other Skills** : Must be proficient in personal computers and mainframe applications including relational database management systems and data warehouses. Knowledge of quantitative approaches used in Rapid Cycle Improvement, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
