United States of America - California, Sacramento **Job Summary** The Program and Project Management (PPM) business line specializes in the management of design and construction of community infrastructure facilities for education, healthcare, national governments, sports and leisure, justice, cultural venues, and commercial needs. AECOM is actively seeking to hire a Fire Protection Engineer to join our growing Program and Project Management business in Northern California. This position will support the PPM Government Market Sector and will be based at a client site in either Sacramento or San Francisco, California. Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: + Fire Protection Engineer working as part of client's own engineering team. + The ideal candidate shall have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of fire protection engineering as well as plumbing including fire suppression, fire alarm, building codes, egress, fire modeling, etc., and be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit. + Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. + Preparation of deliverables and products such as presentation materials, calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports, Fire Protection and Plumbing for commercial, governmental, and institutional facilities. + Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. + Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids. + Fire Protection or Plumbing design for various building types. + Work independently, as well as, potentially guide junior engineers as needed on projects. + Deliver complete, accurate, and coordinated project design assignments as indicated by client. + Perform field investigations for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents. + Work within a project team environment and coordinate work with other project disciplines + Maintain and organize all project-related documentation. + Plan and organize work that follows a defined process. + Develop project written specifications and basis of design narratives. + Must be capable of applying Fire Protection Engineering and Plumbing Engineering principles to problems ranging from simple code consulting to unique and complex technical problems. + Familiar with NFPA codes and standards, evaluation of fire protection programs and facilities. + Development and implementation of fire protection programs, fire protection systems support including minor design modifications or recommendations. + Able to provide Fire Protection Engineering project support ranging from small focused scope to large, multi-million dollar projects. + Knowledgeable in computer modeling of fire, egress or other fire related or influenced phenomena. + Provide egress and fire modeling using FDS or other software. + Other duties as may be assigned. **NOTE: “Sponsorship is not available for this position”** **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline. + Professional Registration in Fire Protection Engineering - State of California. + 6+ years of experience in Fire Protection Engineering. + Previous experience supporting Fire Protection Engineering projects ranging from small focused scope to large, multi-million dollar projects. + Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations. **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor's of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering + 10 to 15 years experience performing Fire Protection Engineering + Previous experience supporting Public Sector, GSA and/or Government Facility Projects, State of California is highly desired. + HSPD-12 Clearance, active or in-active with ability to re-obtain. **NOTE: “Sponsorship is not available for this position”** **What We Offer** When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
