Job Description And Duties

The Employment Development Department (EDD), Document Management Division (DMD) is searching for a motivated, skilled, and challenge-seeking individual who enjoys innovation, problem solving, and is interested in working with an exciting team of professionals in a fast-paced environment. Under the general direction of the Office Services Supervisor II (General), the Office Technician (General) performs a variety of full journey level duties in the Document Management Group. As a lead person, the incumbent helps to direct the workflow, answers questions for other staff, assists in training and mentoring new staff in the mail operations, and operates an OPEX Model 51/72 semi-automated mail extraction machine and a Kodak i850 scanner. The responsibility of this position requires that the incumbent be able to communicate effectively and apply tact and good judgment. The incumbent performs tasks involving incoming mail, document/check preparation, and white mail scanning, while taking into account the processing deadlines for the various workloads. The incumbent must have strong organizational and communication abilities (written and verbal) to support the EDD's mission, vision, values, and business priorities.

Note: The position may have an early shift reporting time starting between 5:00am to 7:00am.
