Job Description

We are currently hiring for a Team Leader in our Folsom, CA office with experience leading a team in a financial services environment / retirement plan operations or trading. Do you have experience leading and motivating a team of 10-15 employees in a financial services environment?

As a member of the team you will monitor completion of necessary functions of the team and ensures the tasks are executed accurately and properly. This role is also responsible for organizing the recruitment and selection of employees as well as taking an active role in the onboarding and performance management process in guiding and developing the skill set of the operations team.

The Team Leader will hold regular team meetings to share information and provide an open forum for team members to collaborate. S/He will periodically review work of all team members to ensure quality and accuracy are met and that the team members meet high standards for customer service and communication skills. Will ensure that team members are challenged in their jobs encouraging team members to develop beyond their current skill set.

In addition, s/he will work with Senior Management on ways to improve our product and enhance the client experience. S/He assists team members with research on escalated issues and acts as a subject matter expert to other departments. This leader will build relationships with other leaders to ensure a smooth flow of information between teams.



  • The successful applicant will have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field or equivalent work experience.

  • S/he must have three to five years of progressive management experience over teams of five or more in a high volume, transaction based financial operations environment (ideally in recordkeeping of 401K plans or Financial Services.)

  • Familiarity with mutual funds, asset classes, market timing, and short term redemption fees
  • Knowledge of the retirement plan industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ERISA regulations, plan document issues, and investment topics is a plus. 
  • Industry designations/licenses are plus (ASPPA, NIPA, investment-related, etc.). 

  • Superior communication, strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation are important for success.

  • The ability to work well cross-departmentally to ensure client expectations are exceeded is required.
