Job Description

Job Summary:
Under general supervision of the Artist Services Manager, read and interpret hospitality riders, serve as a coordinator of the in-house hospitality student staff, arrange catering, shopping, and setup, attend to and clean up refreshments and meals for Mondavi Center guest artists and crews while maintaining consistent quality service. Position may also include arranging hotel and transportation, and some artist liaison duties as assigned. Assigned shifts will be a combination of office hours and varied additional times based on Mondavi Center's production schedule.

THESE 38% LIMITED APPOINTMENTS WILL EXPIRE ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF HIRE WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds.

Standing for long periods of time.

Ability to climb stairs.

Speaking and hearing abilities to be able to communicate
with patrons guest artist and crews.

Work Environment:
Work a flexible schedule and overtime including evenings weekends, and holidays in support of the Mondavi Center's event schedule.

Valid California Driver's license required.

Background Check Required:

This position is a critical position and subject to a background check. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation including criminal history and identity checks.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in food service operations and with basic food layout and/or service.

Experience working independently or with minimal supervision in a fast-paced service environment.

Experience working under pressure while delivering exceptional customer service.

Ability to be prompt reliable, meet deadlines and schedules.

Organizational skills to manage multiple details and tasks associated with executing hospitality requirements and follow through to successful completion.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and personal initiative to solve problems constructively.

Knowledge of and/or training in safe food practices.

Knowledge about gourmet and organic foods and understanding of various dietary restrictions.

Ability to consistently maintain a friendly positive demeanor as well as professional discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within a commercial food service or catering operation.

Experience in managing and working events in a performing arts, arts, or professional setting.

Experience with budgeting, planning and working with service vendors.

Experience purchasing within a commercial food service, catering operation, or a hospitality division.

California Food Handlers Certification

Experience with technical and/or hospitality riders.

Experience working with and professionally mentoring university students in a way which facilitates gaining professional experience and independence.
