The Department of Social Services' Information Systems Division has an opening for an Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I).
The Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) is the Risk Analyst within the Information Security and Privacy Bureau (ISPB) and ensures information technology security standards and procedures are developed and maintained in accordance with the State Administrative Manual, Statewide Information Management Manual and CDSS strategic objectives. The position is responsible for coordinating third-party information security and privacy assessments, audits, and reviews by independent parties (e.g., OIS, IRS, CalOHII).
Also, responsible for tracking and ensuring the successful completion of remediation activities per audit findings. Prepares for upcoming audits, and ensures that CDSS meets audit requirements across systems and applications in scope. Acts as liaison between third-part oversight agencies and CDSS divisions to facilitate communication and requests ensuring audit artifacts and responses are effectively compiled and delivered. Develops and maintains the entity-wide information security, privacy and risk management strategy which includes a clear expression of risk tolerance for the organization, acceptable risk assessment methodologies, risk mitigation strategies, and a process for consistently evaluating risk across the organization. Works cross functionally and coordinate with various stakeholders across CDSS to establish and apply information governance policy, procedures, processes, data classification and categorization.
