The CA. Department of Social Services (CDSS) launched the Research, Automation and Data (RAD) division to build a sustainable data culture and maximize the full value of data. RAD is responsible for working with information services (technology) and program partners throughout the data life cycle to ensure best practices are elevated toward the goal of serving California’s most vulnerable families, using a human-centered and data-driven approach.
We are currently recruiting for a Research Data Specialist I.
The Research Data Specialist I (RDS I) is responsible for leading research that lays the groundwork for long term exploration of policies that best serve California, and opens opportunities to study costs and benefits. Exploratory research will include qualitative analysis and exploratory statistical analysis. This position will work with various CDSS programs, particularly Community Care Licensing (CCL) to imagine the possible and construct new ways of understanding the past. The RDS I will use exploratory research to help the department better understand underlying problems and opportunities. The RDS I work will provide a preliminary understanding on the potential impact of a wide range of CDSS programs and policies.
