The Grant Specialist should maintain a complete understanding of all applicable Program policies and requirements and apply principles during program implementation. The Disaster Recovery Specialist will be responsible for the following: + Advanced knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations and Federal Requirements for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and/or Federal Emergency Management Assistance (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP); + Assist in performing project reviews to confirm compliance with all federal regulations; + Perform application/quality control review for eligibility and Duplication of Benefits award determination on Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) grants and/or Federal Emergency Management Assistance (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP); + Ability to analyze and apply program policy and directives throughout program implementation; + Monitor construction contractor maximum contract requirements opposite assignments; + Support Case Management team by providing guidance on program policies and requirements; + Perform applicant file close-out reviews at construction completion. **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education + Specific knowledge of HUD and CDBG requirements and policies, including but not limited to Section 504, fair housing, and the Stafford Act **Preferred Qualifications** + 5+ years of disaster recovery experience at the federal, state, or local level and/or private sector + 5+ years of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs and/or Federal Emergency Management Assistance (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) experience at the federal, state, or local level and/or private sector; + Advanced level Microsoft Office skills; ability to import, create formulas, pivot tables, export data and run reports in Microsoft Excel; ability to quickly learn new software applications. + Possess flexibility to respond to and manage different tasks, often with competing priorities; + Advanced time management skills which utilize high-level strategies in managing time, productivity, and effectiveness. **Additional Information:** + Sponsorship is not offered for this role. + Relocation assistance is not available for this role. **What We Offer** When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future.
