The Covered California Human Resource team is seeking a Labor Relations Analyst to join our Sacramento team! As the Labor Relations Analyst, you will serve as the primary point of contact for supervisors and managers regarding labor relations issues. This position will leverage your proficiency in the art of negotiating with diplomacy and tact. The Labor Relations Analyst is responsible for assisting with the interpretation of collective bargaining agreements, managing the grievance program, and handling information requests, reporting, and contract negotiation. As a working level analyst, you will be applying broad labor-management principles, practices, and trends in your daily responsibilities, as well as creating and conducting presentations for Covered California’s management and staff in regard to applicable statutes, rules, and regulations. The classification for this role is a Labor Relations Analyst. Minimum Qualifications Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources/Organizational Management, Industrial/Labor Relations, Labor Studies, Law, Political Science, Public Administration, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, or other closely related field. (OR) equivalent to a four year degree WITH at least One Year experience in Labor relations, labor agreements, arbitration of labor agreements or administration and/or the investigation and settlement of violation complaints in regard to State or Federal Labor management laws. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.) Desirable Qualifications Ability to exercise judgment within broadly defined policies and practices Effective in exercising good judgment, articulating reasoned rationale for recommendations to resolve issues or persuade others without direct authority Ability to maintain tact and professionalism under pressure Knowledge of the state’s personnel management program and general principles and practices of labor-management relations Strong problem-solving capabilities and responsive to employee concerns and conflicting stakeholders needs Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate excellent writing skills Ability to handle multiple assignments, adjust to changing priorities and meet deadlines Employee Benefits Covered California provides incredible benefits for our employees, including healthcare, retirement and savings, work life services, leave benefits, and work life balance.
