The Operations Bureau performs prepayment audits of claims from state agencies to ensure legality, validity, and compliance with laws and regulations. The Financial Audits Bureau performs different financial and compliance audits and have oversight responsibilities for programs such as K-12 Education, First 5, Women Infant and Children (WIC), Single Audits of Local Governments, and the Transportation Development Act. The Bureau is responsible for the development of the Guide for Annual Audits of K-12 Local Education Agencies and conducting performance audits of trial courts in California to determine compliance with governing statutes, rules, and regulations.   Under general direction provided by the Audit Manager (Senior Management Auditor), the Staff Management Auditor (Specialist) will perform at the advanced journey level in leading, working with a group of audit teams, or performing complex, difficult, and sensitive engagements (audits, attestations, and/or reviews) in an independent and proficient manner.
