Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy covers information SacJobs collects from users and visitors of SacJobs.com and related services. SacJobs respects your right to privacy and is committed to handling your personal information securely.
1. Information we collect from you
We collect information you give us when you register for a career fair or workshop, request information, use the chat assistant, purchase a service, or subscribe to updates. This may include:
- Contact details — name, email address, phone number, and company or organization
- A resume or CV, and anything else you choose to upload
- Employer details — the roles you are hiring for, and your booth or service selections
- Chat records — the messages you send the assistant and its replies
- Payment records — the receipt, amount, last four digits of the card, and the name and email you gave at checkout. We do not receive or store your full card number, CVC or bank account number; our payment processor does.
- Device and log data, and cookies or analytics as described below
2. Automated chat assistant (AI)
The chat feature on SacJobs.com is an automated assistant powered by artificial intelligence. It is not a human being. It can answer questions about our career fairs, job seeker services and employer services, help you register or request information, and offer a short practice interview. Its answers may be incomplete or wrong; for anything important, please confirm with our team.
When you use the chat we store the messages you send and the assistant's replies, together with any name, email address, phone number, company name or area of interest you provide, any file you attach, the page you opened the chat from, and a shortened one-way hash of your IP address used only to limit abuse. We do not record audio. Chat records are stored in our customer relationship system and may be reviewed by SacJobs staff to respond to you and to improve the assistant's answers.
You never have to use the chat — every service it offers is also available by contacting us directly — and you may ask us to delete your chat history and any attachments at any time.
3. Text messages (SMS)
With your consent, SacJobs may send you text messages from our business phone line about career fair registration and logistics, services you have asked about or purchased, and follow-ups to conversations you started with us.
You consent when you give us your mobile number and ask us to contact you. Consent is not a condition of purchasing anything from us, and we record how and when each number gave consent.
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Mobile phone numbers and text-message opt-in information are not shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. We use a telephony provider solely to send and receive our own messages.
4. Email
Bulk email — newsletters, fair announcements and campaigns — carries an unsubscribe link in every message, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. One-to-one email from a SacJobs team member can be stopped by replying "stop". Transactional email such as receipts, registration confirmations and replies to your questions is sent regardless of marketing preferences, because it is part of the service you asked for.
5. How we use your personal information
- To provide our services and manage your registration or purchase
- To give you technical and customer support
- To communicate with you about something you asked about
- To evaluate and improve our services and website
- To send you information about fairs and services, where you have asked for it
- To enforce our legal rights or comply with legal requirements
We will ask for your consent before using your information for a purpose other than those set out in this policy.
6. Service providers we use
Each of these companies processes personal information only on our instructions and only as needed for the purpose shown:
- Supabase, Inc. — database and file storage for our customer relationship system. United States.
- Vercel, Inc. — hosting for our CRM and website functions. United States.
- Anthropic, PBC — generates the chat assistant's replies. United States. Anthropic does not use content sent through this service to train its models.
- Microsoft Corporation — staff email and calendar. United States.
- MailerLite — bulk email lists, campaigns and unsubscribe handling. EU / United States.
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing. United States.
- OpenPhone, Inc. (Quo) — our business phone line, for texts and calls. United States.
- Hostinger — website hosting. United States.
- Google LLC — website analytics (Google Analytics 4), with Google Signals and ads personalisation switched off. United States.
Personal information is stored and processed in the United States.
7. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it outside SacJobs only with your consent, with the service providers listed above so they can run our services, or where we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary for legal reasons. Information you choose to make public — for example in a resume you ask us to share with employers — is visible to those employers.
8. California residents
This section supplements the rest of this policy for residents of California.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months.
We will honor these requests from any California resident: to know what personal information we hold about you and where it came from; to receive a copy of it; to correct it; and to delete it, unless we need to keep it to complete a transaction, comply with a legal obligation, or for another purpose permitted by law. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will verify your identity by matching the details you provide against our records, and respond within 45 days. You may authorize an agent to make a request for you.
"Shine the Light." California Civil Code § 1798.83 lets California residents ask what personal information a business has disclosed to third parties for those third parties' direct-marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct-marketing purposes.
Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common standard for how to respond, our website does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
9. Accessing, correcting and deleting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send your request to our privacy contact using the details below. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before acting, and will respond within 45 days.
10. How long we keep information
- Job seeker profiles and resumes: 24 months after your last interaction with us, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or you are an active client.
- Chat assistant records and attachments: 12 months from the conversation.
- Employer and vendor contact records: for as long as we have a business relationship, and 36 months after the last contact.
- Text-message consent and opt-out records: for as long as needed to honor your choice — an opt-out is kept indefinitely so that we do not text you again.
- Payment and invoice records: 7 years, as required for tax and accounting.
- Job-matching records: where we score a resume against an employer's stated requirements, we keep the inputs, the result and the explanation for 4 years. California's rules on automated decision systems require this of anyone who scores applicants.
- Backups: encrypted database backups are kept for 14 days and then overwritten.
11. How we protect your information
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from misuse and from unauthorized or unlawful access, alteration, loss or destruction. These include access controls, encryption in transit, and limiting access to staff who need it.
12. Cookies and analytics
This site sets cookies that are needed to run it — to keep you signed in, to remember what is in your cart, and to keep forms secure.
We also use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to understand how the site is used. It sets its own cookies and records your approximate location and general details about your device and browser, together with what you do on the site: the pages you open, how far down them you scroll, links you follow that lead off the site, the words you type into our search box, files you download, videos you play, and when you begin or submit a form. It does not record what you type into a form’s fields.
We have switched off Google Signals and ads personalisation, so none of this is used to build an advertising profile of you and none of it is shared for cross-context behavioural advertising. We use it to understand how people find and use the site, and for nothing else.
You can opt out for every website you visit with Google’s own browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser. Blocking it does not change anything about how this site works for you.
13. Third-party links and services
Our site may link to third-party websites and services, including social media. We are not responsible for their content, security or practices, and information you give them is not covered by this policy.
14. Children and minors
SacJobs is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect information from, children under the age of eighteen (18).

16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to comply with the law or to reflect changes in how we work. We will post changes on this page, and if they are significant we will take appropriate steps to let you know.
Effective date: this policy was last updated on August 30, 2026 and replaces all earlier versions.
