Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using SacJobs. By using the site or our services, you agree to them. SacJobs may modify these terms at any time; changes take effect when posted on this page.

1. Services provided

SacJobs brings job seekers and employers together. Employers can register, post jobs and purchase career fair booths and related services. Job seekers can search and view job postings, attend our career fairs, subscribe to updates, and purchase career services.

2. Your information and privacy

How we collect, use and share your information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary: we use service providers to run our services, we do not sell your personal information, and you can ask us for a copy of your information or ask us to delete it.

Information you choose to make visible to employers — for example a resume you submit to a job posting, or the details you give when you register for a career fair — is shared with the employer concerned so they can respond to you.

We may use your contact details to tell you about SacJobs news, fairs and services. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to any text message.

3. Acceptable use

SacJobs may not be used to:

  • Contact SacJobs users about anything other than recruitment
  • Contact SacJobs users to offer services from a third-party company
  • Post content that is illegal, fraudulent, misleading, or that advertises a job that does not exist
  • Post content that discriminates against applicants on a basis protected by federal or California law
  • Charge a job seeker a fee as a condition of applying for or obtaining a job posted on SacJobs
  • Collect or scrape information about other users, or use automated means to access the site

You must give truthful information in your job posts and account details. Text and images from SacJobs may not be reused for personal or commercial purposes without our permission.

4. Job postings and employer obligations

Employers are solely responsible for the content of their postings, for the accuracy of what they advertise, and for their own hiring decisions and compliance with employment law. SacJobs screens postings and may edit, decline or remove any posting at our discretion — for example one that appears to be a scam, is misleading, or breaches these terms. Reviewing a posting is not an endorsement of the employer or the role.

5. User content and information

SacJobs is not responsible for untruthful or inaccurate information in job posts, profiles or messages submitted by users. We reserve the right to edit or remove any information submitted to the site.

You keep ownership of what you submit. By submitting it you give SacJobs permission to host, display and distribute it as needed to operate the service — for example showing your job posting on the site and in search results.

6. Paid services

Some SacJobs services — including career fair booths, employer packages and career coaching — are paid. Prices and what each includes are set out at the point of purchase. Payment is processed by our payment provider; SacJobs does not receive or store your full card number.

Career fair booths and employer packages are non-refundable. If you cannot attend, tell us before the event and we will move your registration to another SacJobs career fair within 12 months of the original event date. Career coaching sessions may be rescheduled by arrangement. Where an invoice or registration confirmation states different terms, those terms apply.

7. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account details and password confidential, and for activity that takes place under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

8. Third-party links

Our site links to third-party websites and services, including employers' own application pages. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, security or practices.

9. Disclaimer

The site and our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. SacJobs does not guarantee that a job seeker will find a job, that an employer will find a candidate, that any listing is accurate or genuine, or that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SacJobs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or our services, including lost profits or lost opportunities. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Cookies

Our website uses cookies. A cookie is a small file containing an identifier that a web server sends to your browser and that your browser stores; the identifier is sent back each time your browser requests a page. We use cookies that are necessary to operate the site — for example to keep you signed in and to remember what is in your cart. You can delete cookies already stored on your computer through your browser's Help menu, though doing so may affect how the site works.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California.
