United States of America - California, Oakland **Job Summary** AECOM has an exciting opening for an Electrical Engineer to join our growing Power & Industrial engineering group that can be based from several locations including Oakland, CA and Sacramento, CA. Our electrical engineering group provides detailed engineering services for a diverse range of exciting projects across the oil and gas, transmission and distribution, and renewables sector. Qualified candidates will have a background in electrical power engineering for T&D facilities (HV switchyard/substations, MV/HV transmission & distribution systems). The successful candidate is expected to be a detail orientated yet efficient, experienced engineer who can make decisions independently. This role offers a competitive salary, benefits and relocation assistance where and when applicable. **Responsibilities:** + Working with Project Engineer and Project Manager on developing design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities. + Keeping senior management up to date on group progress, issues, opportunities, etc. + Performing Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis). + Developing protective relay settings and calculations. + Developing control system layouts. + One line and three line diagrams. + Protective relay and metering one line / three line diagrams. + AC/DC schematics. + Panel Layouts. + Equipment layouts and sectional views. + Connection Diagrams. + Bill of Materials. + Cable Schedules. + DC power distribution design. + Complying with hazardous area classification codes and standards + Developing construction and equipment specifications. + Supporting projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning. + Grounding Analysis and Design. + Managing and reviewing engineering work performed by peers. + Attending client meetings. **Level specific responsibilities:** * Builds analytic and design skills. * Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer. * Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer. * Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. * Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. * Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision. **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 0 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. + Strong familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, etc). + Strong written and verbal skills. + Ability to take the lead and work on multiple projects simultaneously. + Willingness to learn new skills. + Willingness to travel occasionally. **Preferred Qualifications** + 1 year of experience including detailed design experience as an Electrical Engineer + Power systems analysis software experience (SKM, EasyPower, Etap) with emphasis on arc flash studies is strongly preferred + Registration or ability to attain Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, preferably in California. + AutoCAD/Microstation Drafting Experience. + Experience in multiple industries: T&D, O&G, Renewables + Plant Startup and Commissioning Field Experience Other: Relocation assistance may be available for this position. **What We Offer** When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
