With supervision provided by a Supervisor I in the Support Services Bureau, Public Response and Support Section of the Unclaimed Property Division (UPD) of the State Controller's Office, the incumbent may perform at the capacity of a resource person for the unit as well as within the UPD. The Public Response Unit is responsible for assisting the public by researching and responding to incoming inquiries via telephone, correspondence and/or e-mail pertaining to ownership and the claiming of unclaimed property. The incumbent will answer questions and process claims against unclaimed property accounts by verifying pertinent claimant information, and work in accordance with the Unclaimed Property Law, Government Code, Probate Code, Civil Code, Code of Civil Procedures, the California Code of Regulations, and UPD Policies.
