Under general direction of the Financial Accountant III, the incumbent will work as a team member of the Bureau of Fiscal Systems and Transactions (BFST), representing the State Accounting and Reporting Division (SARD) for purposes of implementing its statutory control agency functions within the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal). The Financial Accountant I must have knowledge of laws of the State of California, fiscal accounting rules and regulations contained in the State Administrative Manual, Governmental Accounting Principles, procedures prescribed by the State Controller's Office, the comprehensive financial system of the centralized accounts, financial reporting systems for Budgetary/Legal and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for statewide financial reporting purposes.
